About the
About the
The “YAKIHAKU” finish was applied by artisan YOMI HIROOKA,
who has honed his “KINSAI” techniques (special gilding techniques for traditional Kimono) for 60 years in Okazaki, Kyoto.
“Yaki-haku” (baked gilding), a technique for bonding gold and silver leaf to a surface, relies entirely on the artisan’s intuition regarding temperature, humidity, and pressure. It is precisely because this technique lacks industrial reproducibility that each piece possesses a unique character.
With every touch of the artisan’s hand, the materials, simply leather and silver leaf, transform into a singular piece imbued with its own sense of time and place. From the day it comes into your hands, it will age alongside you.
About the
The leather is a single-layer, vegetable-tanned piece (4mm thick) with no buckles or stitching. By eliminating metal, this minimalist design maximizes the leather’s natural texture and serves as the perfect canvas for the applied silver leaf. The more you use it, the more it molds to your hand, allowing you to enjoy the leather’s natural patina as it ages.
Pure silver is used for the foil. Just like silver jewelry, it reacts (sulfides) with sulfur compounds found in the air and sweat, gradually developing a matte, weathered patina the more you use it. The speed and depth of this transformation are determined by how you use it.

Additionally, by drilling a hole of about 12 mm and making a cut of about 6 mm, you can adapt them for use with the end-pin jack on an electro-acoustic guitar.
By using different end pieces, you can adapt this product for use with guitars that have different pin shapes.
You can make the necessary modifications yourself using a leather punch or leather knife, or ask local leather workshop.
